“ I had the pleasure of dining at The Sister House in Hayward, and I have to say, it exceeded all my expectations! I went with the tofu soup, galbi tang, and seafood pancake, and each dish was an absolute winner. The tofu soup was incredibly flavorful--perfectly spicy with a rich broth that warmed me up immediately. The tofu was soft and silky, and it soaked up the flavors wonderfully. The galbi tang was another highlight. The beef short ribs were tender and juicy, with just the right amount of seasoning in the broth. It was comforting, hearty, and the portion was generous. The seafood pancake was crispy on the outside, soft and packed with a good amount of seafood inside. It had the perfect balance of texture and flavor and was the perfect accompaniment to the soups. The ambiance is cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend for anyone in the area craving authentic Korean comfort food! Will be coming back for sure! ”
“ Delicious Korean BBQ food for lunch or dinner. We are regulars and go here 2-3 times a month. ”
“ Great for the prices! Got the Galbi Tang lunch, which was pretty good but slightly bland. Wish it had a little more salt. My partner got kimchi stew (extra spicy) and regretted the extra spicy part. The waitress was also like, "you sure?" and he said "yes, I love spicy". He only ate half and when she came to clear the table she said "too spicy?" LOL We'll be back and try some of the rice dishes! Good for cheaper Korean cravings. ”
“ Your local mom & pop gem that serves loads of banchan and a big menu of a variety of Korean dishes. located in the same plaza as music box which I used to karaoke at all the time. It's a pretty small restaurant so it can get packed but hopefully not many people know about it. It's been around forever though! Their BBQ and soondubu dishes are satisfying and their seafood pancake is packed with seafood. Their servers know their menu by heart by number and it was amazing to see such professionalism ! Very nice servers despite it being busy ”
“ Came here Friday during lunch. The restaurant is small inside and quite busy. I ordered the beef tofu soup and my partner ordered galbi tang during their lunch special. Everything was delicious. I ordered my beef tofu soup extra spicy and it was way too spicy. I love spicy foods but that was a lot to handle. Next time I won't ask for extra spicy. Service could be a lot better. I've been to a lot of restaurants where the Korean ladies are very nice and constantly check on you. This place you have to flag them down often even though it's small inside. ”
“ Caveat: 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 Hole in the wall restaurant in an outdoor mildly sketchy (but safe) shopping center. Small space, but enough seating/turnover there shouldn't be a wait. Seems to be family-owned and staffed. Friendly workers and extensive menu. Great banchan spread and food is delicious with generous portions. Definitely worth going to if you're in the area! ”
“ Food comes out quick, delicious, and great portion size for the pricing. I really have nothing to complain about here. All dishes (kimchi jiggae, seollongtang, tteokbokki, galbi, and spicy pork belly) were delicious and seasoned well. Variety of banchan too. Servers are friendly and attentive. They open at 12 by the way on weekends (maybe weekdays too) ”
“ Short Story: A hidden treasure of authentic Korean food! I've been coming here too many times this past year. I've gotten almost everything on their menu: galbi, galbi tang, seafood pancake, kimchi pancake, samgyeosal gui (pork belly), dak gui and maewoon dak gui (boneless and spicy boneless chicken), seafood tofu soup, godeung-uh gui (mackerel), sauteed pork belly, satueed shrimp, and budae jjigae (army pot). They have the best budae jjigae I've ever had in the US. I've been to Korea and miss this dish. I've been looking everywhere for an authentic experience and this is the first place I've found! The place is very small and parking can be tight. The prices are a good value and the customer service is fantastic! Verdict: I'm coming back tonight! ”
“ This has one of the best banchan spreads I have seen in the US. The food is very authentic with Korean clientele. Very family friendly. The seafood and kimchi pancake was great. And all of the food was generally very good. The service is always interesting and while not exactly perfect, the thing that really is that they charge for any to go containers, which we found odd. We still love the restaurant, but the amount charged for the containers seems like we are subsidizing something else. Anyway, we do go and love it. ”
“ Came here as a group of three. We got seated quickly on a Sunday evening around 7pm. We ordered the seafood hotpot (casserole in the menu), sauced shrimp noodles, and seafood pancake. The noodles in the hotpot and shrimp noodles were very chewy and held good flavor from the soup/sauce, respectively. The hotpot was the all around favorite, with a good blend of veggies, tofu, and seafood. The soup smelled and tasted very savory and flavorful. The pancake had good crisp, good seafood/veggie to batter ratio, and had a good overall taste. Definitely a gem for Korean food in the East Bay! You also get many sides, we got 11 total -- which for me is a win at a Korean restaurant, especially when most of them were good. ”
